Get the Most Out of Autumn with These Revamped Veg & Fruit Boxes

After a lot of work, and a tough start to the year, we have been able to revamp our Veg & Fruit Boxes from the beginning of September.

The cost of living impact, as well as a distinct lack of choice of producer in the Kent market place (not unrelated) meant, unfortunately, we had to compromise a little bit on the product we supply to our wonderful customers.

Cost pressures on fuel/energy, wages and product meant our boxes were not quite the value they used to be.

National Veg Box schemes heavily discounting turned heads too.

We were aware of this, but have worked hard to get through it. As with all things there was no magic bullet but we are now in a position to revamp our core Veg & Fruit Boxes.

How have we done this?

  • New growers coming on stream have widened our product choices and relieved cost pressures (Jack Scott, Wonky Parsnip)
  • New products have allowed us to offer more variety (Rainbow Carrots above)
  • New customers have improved our efficiency (Welcome & Thank you)
  • Price increases have been accepted by our wonderful customers (Thank you!)
  • New sizes (e.g. small Strawberry punnet) = more budget for more product

All of the above have enabled us, from 1st September, to offer you more for the same.  So what does this mean in practice?

For example our small Veg Box will have 7-8 veg going forward, compared to 6-7. Our small Fruit Box will have 5 different fruit this week, compared to 3-4 in the past.

All of our Veg & Fruit boxes have an extra item in them, and about 10% more on weighed items.

Still 100% Kent Produce. Still low Food Miles. The Same. But Better.

I really enjoyed the mushrooms that came in this week’s box, and really do eat like an Empress with the gorgeous food you deliver. A much appreciated business, good ethics, good eating! :D
