Getting Started
How does a Kent Veg Box subscription work?
How does a Kent Veg Box subscription work?
When you become a customer, you choose the size of box and delivery frequency that suits you - usually weekly or fortnightly.
Each week, we speak with our local farmers to see what crops are available. We then decide what goes into the boxes, order the veg in bulk from Kent farms, collect and pack it on Tuesday.
Your box is then delivered between Wednesday and Friday, depending on where you live.
We publish what’s in each week’s box on our website on Tuesday.
When will my first box arrive?

What's in the Box
What comes in the veg box?
What comes in the veg box?
The contents change each week depending on what our Kent farms are harvesting.
Our boxes are seasonal, so you’ll see familiar staples alongside different crops throughout the year. You can see what’s in this week’s box here.
Can I choose what goes in my box?
Can I choose what goes in my box?
Our veg boxes are seasonal and farm-led, so the weekly contents are chosen based on what’s fresh, available and good quality from our Kent growers.
However, you can set up to three box exclusions. If there’s something you really don’t like, we’ll do our best to leave it out.
Is your veg organic?
Is your veg organic?
No, our veg boxes are not certified organic.
We do use some organic producers, but the majority of our veg comes from smaller Kent growers who use no, or very little, artificial fertilisers and insecticides.
Because of that, you may occasionally find the odd weed, mark, or little traveller in your produce — but we think that’s a small price to pay for fresher veg, healthier soil, and a more natural way of growing.
Sorry, but I just don’t like beetroot…
Sorry, but I just don’t like beetroot…
No problem. You can set up to three box exclusions in your account, and we’ll substitute another veg if that item is in your box.
That said, we do recommend trying everything first. The flavour difference between fresh Kent produce and supermarket veg can be huge, plenty of customers have been converted back to sprouts, cabbage and plenty more.
Adding Extras
How do I add products to my subscription?
How do I add products to my subscription?
You will either checkout separately or add the product into your upcoming charge. Either way, anything added will be included in your next box delivery.
To add a product to your recurring order, find the product in the shop and choose the subscription or “add to my box” option.
If you have multiple boxes, you may be asked which box you would like to add it to.
Can all products be added as recurring items?
Can all products be added as recurring items?
Pretty much everything, yes. Some products cannot currently be ordered on a recurring basis, but just ask and we can get it setup as recurring subscription.
Can I buy veg or fruit boxes as a one-off order?

They are our core products, and regular subscriptions allow us to plan properly, commit to our local suppliers, reduce waste and keep supporting farms around Kent.

Where does your veg come from?
Where does your veg come from?
All of our veg comes from suppliers in Kent.
We work with small market gardeners and producers - the sort of growers you might see at a farmers’ market. Some are organic, but most are not certified organic. What matters to us is working with local farms who grow good-quality produce with care.
Our veg boxes use 100% Kent veg.
Where does your fruit come from?
Where does your fruit come from?
Our fruit comes from Kent whenever possible.
However, fruit does not grow all year round in Kent, so outside the main Kent fruit season we may supplement boxes with fruit from trusted suppliers, including citrus during the winter months.
If you choose a Kent-only fruit box, please note that at certain times of year it may mainly contain apples and pears.
Where does your meat come from?
Where does your meat come from?
Our meat comes from Kent farms and is free-range. Our beef is grass-fed.
It is butchered on site, and the farms use small local abattoirs. The beef is hung for three weeks before butchering, making it beautifully tender. The animals are outdoors as much as possible, and the farms do not use broad-spectrum antibiotics.
Where does your fish come from?
Where does your fish come from?
Our fish comes from Boathouse Fisheries, a traditional fishmonger in coastal Kent, sourcing fresh seafood daily and directly from local fishermen.
Founded by experienced fishmongers Cieron and Richard, Boathouse is committed to high-quality seafood, responsible fishing practices, and delivering the freshest catch available.
It is delivered fresh, not frozen.
Why is the veg not washed?
Why is the veg not washed?
Our veg comes to you as it comes from the farm.
That means it may arrive with a little soil on it and is not washed or polished like supermarket produce. This helps keep it fresher for longer and reduces unnecessary processing.
