Uncovering the Secrets of Exotic Mushrooms in Kent

Mushrooms have always been difficult for us to use in our boxes as the marketplace is flooded with cheap Polish imports. Such is life but not for us.

Then we discovered Harvey at Owley Mushrooms. Harvey has just start his mushroom business on the family farm on the Kent/Sussex border. He has spent the first couple of years perfecting his growing and establishing himself at farmers' markets and with local chefs.

So stage two is upping the volume of sales so that the business can grow. That's where you, are customers, come in. Through your commitment to us we can purchase in bulk from Harvey. We can add to our boxes as well as sell as individual items.

This means Harvey can scale up as he knows he can sell a certain volume of product through us, and we get a good, but still sensible, price for bulk purchase.

As the mushrooms take 2-3 weeks to grow we can schedule in weeks where we will offer/use the mushrooms so that we know in advance what we are getting and Harvey can plan his growing, piggy backing his other sales off our orders.

We are starting with Shiitake in June as a test run and hope to move into Lions Mane, Enoki and so on.

This is true retailer/producer partnership.

Win for our customers : great Kent product

Win for Harvey: guaranteed sales increase

Win for Us: another new grower supported
