Our Story

It all starts with apples. Kentish Pip is based at Woolton Farm near Canterbury, where the Mount Family has been growing apples for four generations.

Our products are a window into the lifestyle and ethos of our family business: working with nature and never satisfied to settle for second best.

Kentish Pip started out in 2012 by Mark Mount, who milled and pressed the apples by hand in his garden.

Working with his wife Rosie they developed the original range from extensive trials and old family recipes, such as hedgerow jelly and elderflower cordial.

An early run of awards and growing sales set the business on its way.

Chisel Jersey

Chisel Jersey is an old Somerset apple variety we grow at Woolton Farm. It is late ripening, with high levels of astringent tannin and a wonderfully pure cider apple note. This still cider is dry, unadulterated, mouth-puckering goodness.

It is best drunk with food, we recommend a classic cider pairing: mature Somerset Cheddar, roast pork and apple chutney. Consume at room temperature.

Brut SE

A showcase of South East England apples: fresh apple, floral blossom and complex acidity. Three varieties fermented and individually matured for 20 months before bottle conditioning and a further 6 months on the lees prior to disgorging.


Aromas of ripe apples rise from the glass, dried fruit and apricots with a warm mature character. Crisp and dry to taste with complex acidity up front, fruit character and a textured biscuit finish.

Enjoy with foods such as good fish and chips, muscles, oysters and scallops.

Alc. 6.8% Vol.
Sweetness: Dry

FOxPN

As well as apples we also grow grapes for wine at Woolton Farm. In 2021 we fermented Broxwood Foxwhelp apple juice in contact with the skins from our Pinot Noir grapes. The resulting cider is lightly sparkling, dry, with fresh acidity. Bright green and red fruit notes and a distinctive vinous and mineral character.

Drink as an aperitif or pair with a fresh tomato salad, fine Caerphilly or Wensleydale cheese.

Foxwhelp +

Broxwood Foxwhelp apples were milled and macerated for 36 hours before pressing, then fermented slowly at 70C for 3 months. Conditioned in bottle with additions of Zari and a 2017 blend of Woolton cider apples followed by a further 6 months on the lees prior to disgorging.


Enticing aromas of red fruits, apple skins and wild strawberry layered over toffee, raisin and an earthy complexity. The taste is bright upfront with a sherbet tang of the Foxwhelp, soft integrated tannin and a delicate bitter finish. Enjoy with foods such as herby roast chicken, tapas, chargrilled veg, charcuterie and cheese.
